NEW! Thuja 'Green Giant' has been gaining popularity in recent years as a privacy screen tree. To assess its potential as a Christmas tree, we provided the display tree for the SC Christmas Tree Association booth at the 2010 SC State Fair (see pic at left; decorations by Penland Tree Farm in York, SC). The reaction to it was enthusiastic and positive. Thuja Green Giant really shines when decorated. It is a full, narrow, natural looking tree that provides nice pockets for hanging ornaments. Thuja Green Giant's sweet aroma reminds us of sour apple candy. It also has good needle retention when kept in water. We will have only a few available this year but we will definitely be planting more and more.
